Hitting the window
We plan campus projects backwards from the reopening date with contingency for weather built in. If a scope cannot be completed safely inside the available window, we say so during bidding rather than discovering it in week three.
Bus loops and drop-off
These fail faster than the rest of a campus. Buses are heavy, they follow exactly the same path every day, and they stand still while loading. That combination rutts asphalt that would otherwise last for years. Many bus loops are better served by concrete at the standing areas.
Pedestrian conflict
Campuses have more pedestrian-vehicle crossing than almost any property type. Clear, current, high-visibility marking at crossings is among the cheapest safety interventions available.
